During May 2014, five amputee service men retraced the WW2 Cockleshell Heroes expedition kayaking over 90 miles up the Gironde river in France from the Bay of Biscay to the port of Bordeaux. In a gruelling homage to all the lives lost in all the conflicts since the start of the First World War, this trip retraced the incredible journey of the nine brave souls who successfully sabotaged a fleet of German ships and in so doing contributed to the end of WW2. Pilgrim Bandits raised over £50,000 to provide this remarkable trip.
