Ops Western Bandits – Adrian Tobin
Two weeks ago I met up with a group of blokes who all shared a common bond. We have all served in the military or the police and we have all suffered physical or emotional injuries. We are the Western Bandits 2019.
We very quickly bonded. We shared our experiences and supported each other in conquering our personal challenges. We became brothers! This was both humbling and exhilarating at the same time. We have kept faith with Pilgrim Bandits’ motto “Always a little further”. This got me to the top of a mountain where I experienced a clarity of mind I’d never had before.
None of this would have been possible without the fund raising and charitable work of the Pilgrim Bandits Charity.
The amount of effort that went into the planning of this expedition must have been immense. Each of us were placed with a crew-mate best suited to support and mentor us. I doubt very much that this sort of therapy is available anywhere else. I have returned home stronger and more determined to beat my cancer. Life has taken on a new meaning for me. Pilgrim Bandits helped me achieve this.
I owe you all a massive debt for this priceless experience and for the massive impact you have had on my life. I have returned home a stronger and more positive man as a result of your work.
A huge thank you is also due to Greg Walton from Fox Bravo Overland and his team for all the effort they put in to hosting us.
A special thanks to Dave Brady, my crew mate, my brother. You couldn’t meet a nicer, more caring and supportive man.
I am indebted to everyone and will be doing some fundraising in the future. Please support me as and when you can so others can also experience what
